Legal Counsel, location - working from home

The successful candidate will provide commercial advice and legal services as part of a growing global in-house Legal function.

Eden Scott are working with their client based in Central Scotland to recruit a Legal Counsel for their growing organisation.

The role will be focused on client contract negotiation and drafting, with particular focus on ensuring transactions comply with data protection / privacy laws, and on protecting the IP portfolio of the company. You will also be developing and improving processes to establish reliable corporate governance throughout the group.

THE ROLE WILL INVOLVE -

Partnering with account managers and customer service staff, you will work directly with the customer to find commercially practical solutions meeting client and customers needs
Identifying trends in customer feedback on the contract templates, helping to increase the efficiency of the contracting processes by recommending improvements to contract templates, policies and other legal documentation;
Responding to privacy and data protection enquiries from both internal and external clients.
Acting as a point of contact for legal issues, in a professional, proactive, and positive manner.
Supporting the design and maintenance of information systems to track progress, report activity and securely store important information and documents.
Building effective relationships through a partnership approach.
Working with colleagues from across the business to design and drive the implementation of practical, high-quality and cost-effective solutions for legal and operational challenges.

The successful candidate will be -

Fully qualified solicitor with commercial contracting experience
Able to identify and work to clear priorities, manage time and resources effectively, while remaining flexible to changing priorities.
Analytical and curious with attention to detail and able to break down problems to arrive at logical, clear conclusions
Positive 'can do' attitude and work ethic, with a strong motivation to make a difference
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
