Job Description

This in-house organisation currently has a need for a Legal Counsel.  This role is for a 12 month FTC and is based in Edinburgh.   This role will involve providing legal advice and guidance of the highest quality on a variety of projects and contracts including mutual fund launches, general fund lifecycle legal work and distribution agreements.  

Your duties will include:

  • Provide high quality legal advice to business stakeholders.
  • Provide detailed legal, technical and commercial input to projects 
  • Review and accurately draft high quality legal documentation 
  • Develop and maintain highly effective partnerships with internal and external customers and stakeholders in order that legal services provide best value and support the business cost effectively.
  • Manage the effective use of external legal firms and other suppliers to ensure the most cost-effective usage in support of the business where applicable.
  • Proactively keep abreast of legal changes and maintain knowledge of legislation, regulatory requirements and case law to support the provision of high quality legal advice.
  • Provide legal advice in practical and clear format while maintaining a customer focus at all times.
