Interim Compliance Officer, Public Sector – Edinburgh

Job Description

This public sector organisation is currently recruiting a Compliance Officer to join its Information Management Team. This is an interim role for a period of 3-6 months, and the organisation keen for the successful candidate to start as soon as possible.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in interesting work and your responsibilities will include:

• Handling all aspects of requests received under freedom of information and data protection.
• You will also be required to deputise for the Head of Information Governance and for the Data Protection Officer, this includes responding to enquiries received.
• Managing any issues that arise and instilling confidence in the work of the team.
• Handling all enquiries relating to copyright, re-use of public sector information and open data.

To be considered for this role you do not need to be a qualified lawyer, but you must have experience of working in freedom of information and data protection, ideally within a regulatory environment.
