An international energy company is looking for a Planning Solicitor from 4 to 8 PQE to join its high performing planning and consenting legal team.

Job Description

 

You can be based out of any of this Company’s offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness or Perth. This Company asks its employees to attend at the office two days per week – the remainder can be spent working from home.

Applicants can be qualified as a Solicitor in either Scotland or England & Wales (dual qualification, whilst great to have, is by no means a pre-requisite to be considered).

Candidates Required

Applicants should be a qualified Solicitor admitted in either Scotland or England & Wales (or dual qualified) with between 4 and 8 Years’ PQE in planning and consenting matters (ideally with offshore projects experience), gained in either private practice or an in-house environment.  

Location

This role can be based out of any of this Company’s offices in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness or Perth.

This Company is a strong advocate of flexible working, with a defined hybrid working policy which requires staff to spend 2 days a week in the office per week.

The Role

In this role, you shall join this Company’s high performing planning and consenting legal team, advising on planning and consenting matters for some of the world’s most high profile offshore projects.  

You will play a pivotal role in guiding and assisting the project teams through the complex landscape of planning and consenting for projects. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on onshore transmission infrastructure planning applications related to offshore projects.
  • Formulating and progressing Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) derogation cases.
  • Supporting project teams in discharging conditions and ensuring smooth progress through the development stages.
  • Mentoring and guiding junior team members, fostering their professional growth.
