Our client is currently recruiting a Solicitor to join its Clean Energy Contracts and Regulation team (Property & Infrastructure division) in Glasgow. The ideal candidate will be at the 0-3 years’ pqe level and should be able to demonstrate an appropriate range of legal knowledge with commercial contracts and/or energy/utilities regulatory experience is preferred. This is a fast-growing team that has expertise in water and waste sectors and will advise clients across the UK on similar contractual/regulatory matters in those sectors. You can expect to be working on a range of clean energy projects, in particular non construction contracts for onshore and offshore clean energy projects, the team works on unusual and (often) heavily regulated contracts and sees an incredible variety of work including grid agreements, aviation mitigation agreements, power purchase agreements and pre-construction agreements such as offshore surveys, collaboration/co-existence agreements between different users of the seabed, electric vehicle services and roll out arrangements.
The successful candidate will also provide regulatory advice on all aspects of clean energy projects including electricity licences, Government framework for carbon capture and storage, offshore transmission, emerging issues for hydrogen projects, heat and electric vehicle regulation.
