Job Description

Our client, a leading Scottish firm has a newly created opportunity for a 2 - 3 years' pqe Contentious Construction fee earner to join its small and friendly team in Glasgow.  Less experienced candidates may also be considered provided you have relevant experience.

The successful candidate will be part of a busy team which is involved in all aspects of contentious construction work including: 

  • Acting on behalf of employers, contractors, professional consultants and insurance clients on a broad range of disputes, dealing with a variety of bespoke contracts and standard forms
  • Advising clients on all aspects of construction litigation including both raising and defending all levels of Sheriff Court and Court of Session actions, adjudications, negotiation, mediation, arbitration and contractual advice.

Key Skills/Knowledge:

You should have good technical skills and commercial awareness of contentious construction work is required together with an enthusiastic approach to business development in a target driven commercial environment.

Experience of contentious construction work is desirable but if you have a background in commercial litigation and are keen to specialise, then our client is keen to hear from you.  The successful candidate should be a team player with a strong client focused approach together with excellent communication and organisational skills.  This is an exciting time to join a firm committed to people development.  (Assignment 9264)
