Job Description

Would you be interested in building your in-house career with an impressive and fast-growing utilities company?

If so, then please do read on:

This is a newly created role which has arisen due to exponential growth, with our business growing from 50 employees in 2017 to a current headcount of 370.

Castle Water is no ordinary run of the mill utilities company, far from it. We believe in doing things differently and innovatively. So much so, that we consider ourselves industry disruptors and with no signs of growth slowing soon this is a fantastic time for ambitious legal professionals to join us.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Legal Counsel and his team, providing expertise and advising on commercial matters for a list of impressive, and expanding, clients. We already supply water and wastewater services to hundreds of thousands of businesses, charities and public bodies throughout England and Scotland.

Responsibilities shall include drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, providing advice on regulatory and GDPR matters, managing commercial disputes, deputising for General Counsel and providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members.

It is anticipated you will have between 2 and 5 years commercial law post qualifying experience and ideally will have experience of both litigation or dispute resolution and corporate matters.

Excellent communication skills and a flair for developing long standing business relationships are essential.

In return you will have the opportunity to develop your career, working alongside Counsel that can offer the mentorship of Partners in private practice, but whilst working within a friendly team that can offer a far superior work/life balance.
