Core-Asset Consulting’s client, an award winning and leading legal firm, has a new opportunity for a Real Estate Solicitor (NQ – 2 years PQE) to be based in its impressive offices in central Edinburgh. This is a great opportunity to work for a prominent firm and department where you will be part of a team working on some of the highest profile property transactions in Scotland.

Working within a team that covers a broad spectrum of commercial real estate work including investment, public sector and development work streams. This is an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor who is keen to gain exposure to the full range of commercial property work, from property and estate management to property investment and development work. The successful individual will work closely with senior lawyers in the team and will, therefore, have a great opportunity to learn and be involved in many aspects of commercial property.

This is a fast-paced environment, where you will be involved in dealing with multiple clients and building and maintaining relationships on an ongoing basis.  It is important you have excellent client facing skills and enjoy being involved in building and maintaining client relationships on an ongoing basis.

Core responsibilities:

  • Noting title and report drafting for clients
  • Assisting with acquisition, investment and development transactions
  • Analysing and reporting on leases in the retail, industrial, office and leisure sectors
  • Drafting and negotiating leases
  • General property management for various types of client/properties (retail, industrial, office and leisure)
  • Assisting with transactional management of property deals
  • Building and maintaining client and agent relationships
  • Involvement in business development activities linked to the team’s, the department’s and the firm’s strategic plan

Core Individual:

  • NQ to 2 Years PQE Scottish Qualified Solicitor
  • Previous experience of working in property is preferred
  • Interest and enthusiasm for property industry
  • Takes personal responsibility to learn on the job and keep knowledge up to date
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to deal with competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Shows understanding of clients’ needs, and tailor’s advice appropriately
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Communicates in a confident, clear and relaxed way
  • Adapts style of communication appropriately when dealing with colleagues and clients
  • Research skills
  • Takes responsibility for their own transactions and advice, subject to supervision
  • Works to understand the department’s key clients, the industries that they operate in and the challenges they face
