A leading international law firm is seeking a banking & finance associate/senior associate with 2-7 years' PQE in general banking work to join their team in Edinburgh.

Job Description

The successful candidate will engage in a variety of finance transactions, representing both lenders and borrowers. This is a key role within a dynamic team, offering opportunities for professional growth and involvement in the firm’s broader business development strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Finance Transactions:
    • Handle all aspects of lending transactions from start to finishWork with a diverse client base, including banks, insurers, debt funds, and large corporations in Scotland.
  • Business Development:
    • Participate in marketing efforts to attract new clients.
    • Support the firm’s growth through involvement in strategic business development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 2-7 years' PQE in general banking, with experience managing a wide variety of transactions.
  • Strong background in corporate banking law, ideally gained within private practice.
  • Qualified in Scots law and/or English law.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal matters clearly.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities, with a focus on sound judgment and initiative.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships, demonstrating a client-focused approach.
  • Adaptability to work both independently and as part of a team, with flexibility in managing changing priorities.
